You know breathing matters…

You’ve watched the breathing videos, maybe you’ve even done a class. You know how it’s supposed to work.

But underneath all of that, there’s still doubt.

When it actually gets intense, will I remember what to do? Will it even work?

When labour starts and the contractions build, it can get more intense than you expected. Add in the exhaustion, and that intensity can tip into overwhelm. You forget your breath, and panic sets in.

And panic is what most of us are really afraid of. Not the pain itself, but the spiral, the losing control, the way it can pull you toward the interventions you were trying hardest to avoid. That feeling of a birth you had a hold on, slipping away.

why practice is the key

The thing that stops the spiral is your breath.

When you can rely on breathing that your body knows exactly how to do, panic can't take hold the same way. Your body stays relaxed, labour keeps moving, and your mind can stay focused on the present moment.

But knowing a breathing technique isn't enough. In the middle of intense labour, you can't be trying to remember instructions. The breath has to be so familiar that it’s automatic, you don’t have to struggle for it.

And the only thing that gets you there is practice. Not watching a technique once. Actually practising it, until your body knows it and your nervous system responds on its own.

Hi, I’m Joelle

I’m a mindful birth yoga teacher and a mum of three. And I learned this the hard way.

With my first birth, I honestly thought I was prepared. Years of yoga had taught me how to breathe, in theory. But breathing in labour, when you’re in pain and it’s intense, is a whole other thing. My labour was long, my baby was posterior, and I panicked. I couldn’t relax my body or stay in the moment and everything got harder.

My next two births were different. Not because they were easier, but because this time I had practised the breathing techniques for labour. I didn’t have to think about them. I felt like I was in my birth, not overwhelmed by it.

That’s why I became a mindful birth yoga teacher, and why I love helping pregnant women prepare the way I wish I had the first time.

I’ve taught these exact techniques to expecting mums in my courses and classes, and they tell me the same thing again and again. The breathing was the thing that carried them through.

testimonials

“The breathwork tools were the most valuable - learning how to stay relaxed and focused during uncomfortable physical sensations.”

— Jess, first-time mum, prenatal client

"Practising these different ways of breathing really helped prepare me, mentally as much as physically, and when the day came I was able to just slip into the zone and have a beautiful birth at home."

— Susanna, second-time mum

"Your words were ringing in my ears through the contractions and I continued to breathe with Golden Thread…”

— Jemma, 2nd time mum, VBAC, prenatal client

breathe through birth is for mums who:

  • Have read the books, watched the reels, maybe done a class, but still don’t feel ready.

  • Know breathing matters and want to know it inside out, so they can trust it in labour.

  • Want to walk in feeling like they've actually got tools, not just hoping they'll cope

Most birth breathing content teaches you the steps. It shows you what to do.

But watching a technique once doesn’t train your body to know it. That’s the gap almost every birth prep leaves, and it’s the gap that opens up at the worst possible moment, when you’re deep in labour trying to remember a technique you only ever watched.

Breathe Through Birth practises with you. You learn each technique with a short video. Then the guided audio practises it alongside you, on your phone, in the car, on a walk, before bed, until the breathing is second nature.

what’s inside the course…

You don’t need a bunch of techniques. These three cover the whole of labour, and you’ll actually know how to use them.

01

The Golden Thread

Your anchor breath for early and active labour, keeping you calm and focused between and through contractions.

02

The Low Sound Breath

For the peak of intensity, using the connection between your jaw and your pelvic floor to release tension and help your body open

03

The Reset Breath

For the moment you feel overwhelmed or panicked, bringing your nervous system back down and getting you grounded again.

Each one comes with a short teaching video, so you learn exactly how to do it, and a guided audio track you save to your phone and practise with, again and again, until it's second nature.

04

The Integration Video

Learn how the three breaths flow through a single contraction, from the first rise to the peak to the release, so you're not thinking about which breath when. You know the shape of it.

☊ The Labour Track

One long guided audio that talks you through the breathing in real time, contraction after contraction. When labour starts, you press play and breathe with it.

Plus guidance for the pushing stage, so you know how to breathe through second stage too.
