When I first became pregnant, all I knew for sure was that I didn’t want a traumatic birth. The only stories I’d heard about birth came from my mom, sister and aunts, and they were mainly stories of emergency c-sections, traumatic interventions and unsupportive birth environments. It’s no wonder I was scared!
I really wanted to try for a home birth, believing that this would give me the calm birth experience I truly wanted. Despite doing my best to prepare (well, what I thought at the time was best), it didn’t go the way I’d hoped. It was long, overwhelming and I doubted myself through a lot of it.
I thought I’d done all the preparation for my birth to go well, but I hadn’t quite put the pieces together. My second home birth was a totally different experience. My mindset was different this time and my body was ready (of course, second time birth benefits). But it came down to one thing - being prepared. Like, really prepared. What did prepared look like this time? Mindset, movement, breath work and trusting my intuition.
Since then, I’ve been on a mission to help women have the birth experience they actually want, using movement, breath and mindset, no matter how they choose to birth.

Qualifications
200 hr Yoga Teacher Training (YogaWorks USA)
150 hr Pre/Postnatal Yoga and Mindful Birth Training (Mindful Birth Australia)
15 years of yoga practice, teaching pre and postnatal mums for over 5 years.

A bit about me…
I’m a Canadian living in Australia and a mum to two little boys both born at home, and a girl, who was birthed stillborn at 23 weeks. I’ve been a yogi for over 15 years and am so passionate about the body and birth.
As a yoga teacher, I’ve experienced how powerful and life-changing a yoga practice can be, but I never realised until I started teaching prenatal mums how powerful it can be for birth.
Seeing mums feel better in their bodies throughout pregnancy (yes, even the 3rd trimester), and experience the calm and peaceful births they wanted has made me want to share this practice with every mum out there so they, too, can experience the same benefits.
